INGREDIENTS

  • 1 1/5 cups warm water
  • 1 packet of yeast
  • 1 tsp. sugar
  • 2 tbsp. olive oil
  • 3/4 tsp. salt
  • 2 1/2 cups flour, plus more for sprinkling
  • 3/4 cups mozzarella
  • 4 tbsp. butter
  • 4 cloves of garlic
  • 1 tsp. Italian seasoning

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Mix the warm water, yeast, and sugar.
  2. Cover and leave for 5 minutes.
  3. Add the olive oil, salt, and flour.
  4. Knead until you get a soft dough. Tap it with your finger - if it bounces back slowly, the dough is ready to rise.
  5. Place the dough in a lightly greased bowl. Let the dough rise at room temperature for 1-2 hours.
  6. Preheat the oven to 200°C / 400F.
  7. Shape the dough into a ball. Divide into eight.
  8. Roll out and stretch each piece.
  9. Place mozzarella in the middle of each piece. Close and pinch the edges to form a rope shape.
  10. Carefully tie the rope of dough into a knot.
  11. Lightly cover the knots and let them rise for at least 30 minutes.
  12. Bake for about 20 minutes or until golden brown.
  13. In the meantime, mix the melted butter, garlic, and Italian seasoning.
  14. Once the bread rolls are done, brush them with the garlic butter. Serve immediately.
  15. Enjoy!
